The goal of this game is to balance all resources so that there is not a deficit of any resource, and stay within their 250 billion dollar budget. Colonists will need to mine for metals in order to construct buildings, extract water, grow food, and more in order to survive. With each rocket, a predetermined quantity of colonists and supplies will be brought, though not enough to permanently sustain the colonists. Students will initially choose a rocket used to colonize Mars, and enter the number of rockets that they'd like to commission for colonization. All data from the game is pulled from legitimate sources and takes into account realistic human needs, such as the amount of food, oxygen, and water that people need to survive. This is a text-based Mars colonization RTS game, heavily influenced by my teaching of the Flight and Space PLTW course.
